Watch this space for up to date news and information about all that is going on in Year 3!
As you are aware, in November, Year 3 were very excited to bring their Stone Age topic to life with a visit to Butser Farm!
We started our day round a fire in an authentic round house! Throughout the day we were able to take part in a range of traditional Stone Age activities such as chalk carving, cordage, fencing building and archaeology. Here are a few pictures from our day.
As you will know from our Spring newsletter, it is our Year 3 Roman Day on Friday 22nd January. Children will be participating in a range of activities including preparing a traditional Roman stew (using vegetables imported to Britain by the Romans), making and using a traditional Roman wax tablet, taking part in a Roman numeral investigation and letting off steam through gladiator games! The day will end with a traditional Roman feast!
To make the day seem more authentic for the children, we are asking that they come in dressed up as a Roman for the day. This can range from simple white sheets over school uniform to gladiator costumes! (Please no chariots or swords!) We have included some pictures below as a guide.
The children are already very excited about the day and the teachers are looking forward to dressing up too!
