Juniors School Meals

School Meals at Warren Mead Junior School are provided Chartwells, an independent catering company. Chartwells specialise in education catering, providing meals to schools across the UK, promoting a healthy lifestyle and providing tasty meals that children enjoy.

All meals are freshly prepared daily by a dedicated team using fresh ingredients.   All menus meet and exceed all national nutritional standards, providing children with the nutrients and energy to get them through their busy day.

There is a wide selection of choice, to suit everybody’s taste. The menu operates on a 3 weekly cycle which includes three options:

  • Main
  • Vegetarian
  • Jacket potato

You can choose from these three options on a daily basis. Some children choose to have a school meal each day and others just a couple of times a week.   We are pleased to be able to offer this flexibility, as we understand the varying needs and requirements of parents.

In order for AIP to plan the preparation of meals, they require orders to be made by the end of the day on a Thursday for meals for the following week. Unfortunately orders cannot be made after this time and a packed lunch would therefore need to be provided for your child. Meals are sent to school for the exact number of orders they have received. If an order has not been made and a packed lunch not sent into school, the school office will contact you on the day to ask for a packed lunch to be dropped into school.

Orders are made via your ParentPay account. Your school meals option in your ParentPay account must be in credit for an order to be processed. If the funds are not available, the order will be cancelled. The cost of a meal is £2.20 per day.

Should your child have any dietary or allergy requirements, you must inform AIP at allergens@ainp.co.uk. They will work closely with you to ensure menus are suitable for your child. For information purposes, please can you also notify the school office via info@warrenmead.co.uk.

Packed lunches

If your child has a packed lunch, please support us in encouraging healthy eating and therefore do not include fizzy drinks, sweets or chocolate bars. We endeavour to be a nut free school, in order to ensure the safety of children with nut allergies.  Please check packaging for ingredients and do not send nuts or food containing nuts into school.

Free School Meals

If you are in receipt of government benefits, your child may be entitled to free school meals. Please contact the school office to discuss this. All conversations will be treated confidentially.
